Between the heat and the rain I'm completely beat - much in need of a nap....This bed looks perfect for the moment.

Tote-a-lly Fantastic!

It's Summer! Time to hit the pools, lakes and beaches.  An essential I just can't get enough of is a great, sturdy tote bag.  I stash mine around the house in closets filled with rolled up towels, magazines, recycling, etc.  It's a great and easy way to add a little warm weather decor to your home.  Of course, they work great for their invented purpose: lugging your items to and fro...I've round up a few of my current favorites:

I have one of each of these basic L.L. Bean boat totes in each size. I'm a sucker for the basic white with blue but you can get a variety of fun, funky, bright colors.  I keep the extra large size in my trunk to consolidate all my smaller shopping bags to one.  The large is great for a family day out by the water and the medium works well for a a solo outing.  I also use the medium to hold magazines and water bottles.  The small is perfect for a snack bag for a road trip.

Check out this bag by Hable Construction.  It would be adorable in a kids room to contain small toys or rolled up throw blankets.  We carry this line of pillows and use the fabrics for a lot of our custom nurseries.  I'm so thrilled they added this practical and fun tote!

This softer canvas tote by Lands End is cute enough to carry around daily during these sweltering months.

I think this collection of Sea Bags by Angela Adams for J.Crew is genius. Old sails and ropes make this perfect for a weekend out on the boat.

Okay, so this isn't really sturdy but I love it! I saw it in Real Simple a few months ago and knew it had to be mine. It's perfect for your summer vacations by the beach as it's is large and holds a million things. But, the metallic and shape add a little glam that you will feel confident carrying it on your shopping excursions or out to dinner.

It's getting HOT out there...time for some seersucker and lemonade!

When I think about seersucker the below image is the first thing that comes to me...seersucker suits are a classic, fresh look in the southern summer heat.  But, what about seersucker in the bedroom? 

Matouk has a great collection of seersucker bed linens - The coverlets are whisper thin and perfect for summer nights.  These would also make great additions to beach homes. 

Or, you could simply go for a cool robe in soft colors like white, petal, willow, truffle or blue.  It also packs well since it's supposed to be a bit wrinkled and crinkled. 

Just be sure to have plenty of this on hand...

Pretty in Pink

Hellooooo gorgeous.  This pink room is certainly not for a little girl.  I fell in love with this Marblehead weekend home featured in the June's Traditional Home.  The entire home is a wonderful combination of soothing clean lines and vibrant colored fabrics.  My favorite room, however, is the bedroom.  How amazing is this Niermann Weeks iron canopy bed?  You get the canopy vibe while keeping things light and open.  But the colors, oh those colors...

Here...Take a closer look.   The Boston design duo responsible for this room is clearly a fan of Alan Campbell textiles.  The "Criss Cross" wallpaper pairs perfectly with the "Saya Gata" fabric used on the shams and table skirt.  Recognize the large throw pillow?

The crisp white bathroom stands out against Cowtan and Tout's "Mardale" wallpaper.

The cabana room is sumptuous in soothing shades of pinks, whites and browns.

Trend I'm Loving: Oversized Boudoir Pillows

For the past year or so I've been particularly fond of over sized boudoir pillows centered on the bed.  Typical boudoir pillows are 12" x 16" with some slightly larger at 14" x 20."  My favorite, however, are the really big sizes (minimum size of 16" x 28").  Think of the length of a standard pillow and about 60% of the height.  For a king size bed you can certainly go even larger. Around the World: Great Gift Idea

I am not sure what happened to this week - Is it really almost Thursday already?  I've been slacking on my posts this week but had something that I just couldn't wait to share with you...

One of our clients wanted the perfect gift for her BFF and travel buddy.  The answer:  A set of linen dinner napkins embroidered with the cities the two visited together.  I love the gray color with orange embroidery. Can you imagine her friends reaction when she opened this gift? What a thoughtful and fun idea (that I so wish I could claim it as my own)!

The best thing about early summer in Atlanta? The hydrangeas.

Driving around this afternoon I couldn't help but take in the abundance of the beautiful blooms. There are pink ones...

and white ones.  But best of all...

The blue ones!

This gorgeous home is located in Santa Monica and designed by duo Hallberg & Wiseley.   I can't decide which piece I adore more: the limestone coffee table or the woven chair set.  Ahhhhh...

               

While this home is stunning the view certainly gives it a run for its money!

Tis the Season: Wedding Season

Spring and Summer are filled with wonderful weddings...One of the girls at the shop, Jenni (aka "Little Jenni) just celebrated her nuptials in a spectacular Charleston bash!

Guest were treated to beautiful weekend filled with sunsets, champagne and dancing.  Jenni did a great job keeping the theme and colors of the wedding consistent throughout all the weekend events with ever detail attended to...

Rehearsal dinner and cocktails on the veranda at sunset.  A perfect way to kick-off the celebration.

The happy Mr. and Mrs. To-Be.

The big day:  the bride-to-be with her leading ladies.  Jenni opted out of traditonal bridesmaid dresses and instead selected these fun Milly dresses for the girls. 

After the ceremony, guest enjoyed an outdoor, tented fete that started with a sunset and ended under the stars.
