Glass, Glass Baby

 I was excited when I saw Lulu DK re post about these beautiful glass votives from Glassybaby.  I was so drawn to these last year and completely forgot about them until Jenny mentioned she just saw them at Trail of Inspiration.  I hopped on over and was completely delighted to "find" these beauties again.  The company started when a mother of three, who was battling cancer, created the votives and scattered them throughout her home.  She found the light from the colored glass brought her much hope and healing.  Read the full story here.  Such a sweet story and such beautiful pieces.

These votives are often used as centerpieces at weddings and other fun parties.  The company even rents out the votives for large events.

I love this arrangement of pastels for the spring season.

But then there is the sophisticated palette of yellow, gray and taupe.

The only downside?  Trying to choose which colors to get.  A collection certainly worth starting.

"All Stitched Up" with Matouk and Lulu DK

Matouk just expanded its line of linens to include quilted pieces.  We were so excited to see these in person - they look so great and can't wait to get them in the shop.  The diamond pique and lulu dk patterns look precious all stitched up.  Much easier to care for as you don't have to worry about wrinkling!

This gorgeous weather seemed like a good reason to post this picture from the shop.  We've been craving spring for several weeks now and these great linen pillows paired with this fun painting give us just the fix we need!

New York, New York...Fun Finds

Our trip to New York started off with seeing lots of snow.  Central Park had about 20 inches so we couldn't resist taking a quick stroll through before hitting Market.  We were quite a sight trying to navigate through the slush. Fortunately, Jenny had just purchased a pair of Hunters that kept her feet dry.  I, on the other hand, only had some leather ones that certainly didn't hold up as well. I suffered from boot envy the rest of the trip!

Once inside we found lots of fun stuff to bring back to the shop.  A few of our finds are below.  Lots and lots more in store!

Inspiration: Pink Bedrooms



A 19th-century Italian headboard, upholstered in Osborne & Little's Tamara

I've been in an inspiration-void of late.  Ever happen to you?  I've tried and tried and just haven't been able to completely get my creative juices going again.  They've been bubbling up to the surface but no full boil until yesterday.  I received my House Beautiful and I was immediately happy.  I think magazine subscriptions should be an approved medical replacement for anti-depressants. 

Any-who.  It's all about Pink.  I'm not typically a pinky, pink person but the rooms and accessories in this issue really spoke to me and just made me happy.  I won't try to recreate the whole magazine on here, but I thought I'd highlight a few pretty pink bedrooms.   The room above is dynamic with that headboard and fabric. But, it's those stools at the end that really do it for me.

This room is exudes sophisticated, romanticism. Those lamps are killing me and I love that there is enough space in this room for an impromptu dance party. Also, check out the funky throw over the arm of the chair. Too fun! We actually just got some similar versions for the shop (more on that later).

I have been drooling over this Niermann Weeks iron bed for quite a while now. It's always good to keep a wish list going in one's head.



It's near impossible to discuss pink bedrooms and not feature a kid room.  This is more like a teenager's room - one who has a very cool mom. Seriously, Lucite coffee table and Designer Guild fabric? Love it!

On a different note, I just found my cord to download my pics for NY off my camera.  You will never guess where it was hiding.  In the box with the software, papers and adapters like a good organized person would do -- apparently I threw myself off being super organized!

Monday's Burst of Joy

These little lovelies are making me so happy today! Etched glass vases with I love you.  Just in time for valentines day.

I also have some fun pics of new stuff for the shop from Market last week but can't for the life of me find my usb port/connector (whatever it's called) to download my images. It's seriously going to drive me to drink.  I can't wait to share them, however.
