Bedded Bliss: Soft, White Linens

Similar to my white sofa woes, are my white bedding woes.  I love the look.  It's clean. It's calm. It's beautiful.  It just doesn't seem to work for me with fur fritters that like to jump up and make the bed their own.   Yet I yearn for the simplicity of clean, soft white linens.  I'm envious of those of you who can pull this off....

The chandelier is so pretty in this room but I have a fear of hanging chandeliers over my bed - what if it falls?  That thought doesn't provide me with a relaxing sleep. I know, I'm crazy.

Those of you that have been reading this blog for some time know that I have a thing (read: obsession) for Tom Scheerer's designs.  I was stalking his site as I often do to see what might be new. 

I was delighted to see this great home he worked on in Southwest Harbor, Maine.  I was just up there in April and it's a good thing I didn't know about this house.  I might have been caught for stalking. 

Wicker Wingbacks - This is certainly the perfect space for the pair. 

I'm not a yellow wall person but I could hang in this room.  I love that it's a little "grandma" but still chic.

This collection of hats displayed prominently makes me smile.  It reminds me of my grandparents who never go outdoors without proper head coverage.  If this was my home I'm sure the bust would be wearing one too. 

So many different elements going on here but he pulls them all together seamlessly.

As much as I love the indoors, I would spend every pretty day out here. 

And every pretty night dining al fresco.

Mellow Yellow

The Gramercy Girls were in a Mellow Yellow state of mind today.  I have steered away from using it in my own home; however, I'm evolving and considering adding some accents.  These rooms certainly make a great case for incorporating some yellow in your life.

And, not truly yellow but my favorite scent right now.  We can't seem to keep enough of these candles in stock!

We've had a busy few days with market and planning new fun additions to the shop.  More on those later.

Bedded Bliss: Casa Midy's Inspiring Rooms

I recently came across these bedrooms by Anne Marie Midy and Jorge Almada (the dynamic duo behind Casa Midy).  I'm obsessed with their stuff ever since Keith Johnson brought it to my attention (not personally, but through Man Shops Globe).   This room is seriously stylish.

I love a pair of twin beds.  This version has a great casual, cool factor.

Um.  I want this bed.  It would be like sleeping outdoors.  That's about as close as I'll get to doing it anyway.

Sofa Woes...Light vs. Dark vs. Print

I have buyers remorse.  I have a sofa very similar to this one.  I was persuaded to purchase this style after reading/hearing so many positives about how perfect these sofas are because they are so easy to take care of....just simply throw the cushion covers in the wash and they are great with kids, pets, etc.  Well, I am clearly way lazier than the majority of people.  I think the whole cleaning of the covers is a pain in the butt. And, it has to be done often.  It's a shame because the look is so pretty, right? 

So serene and sophisticated.

More my style.  Light, neutral base with lots of color through accent fabrics and accessories.

But, if I were to do it all over again.... 

I would go darker.  No doubt about it.  I love the look of the gray sofa but I probably would end up with the trusty and true taupe family... 

And then there is my all time favorite bold look.  I wish I could pull this off.  I'm hoping to be more brave next time I'm changing up my living room decor. 

 However, this might be the perfect answer and one I could live with long term. This room makes me happy.
