Orange you ready for a little color change?

Don't get me wrong. I love all the red, green, gold, silver and blue of the season but I'm craving a little change for a day.  How about a little orange?

Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house?

This is my absolute favorite time of year.  For some reason I haven't even started getting out my decor and I'm needing a little inspirational push to get my Christmas on...thank goodness for blogland!  A few of my favorites just in case you are needing a little Christmas mojo.

Can you tell I like simple Christmas decor?  Just touches here and there but still allowing your house to maintain its identity.

Happy Decorating and Celebrating!

The New Traditional according to H.B.

I finally got a chance to sit down and look through the December House Beautiful and this home really caught my eye.  It doesn't hurt that everything is styled to perfection.
This entry way is just perfect. Check out the details on those legs!

Like the layered, neutral vibe going on in this room.

I've been really drawn toward darker cabinets but this kitchen makes me rethink white.

High gloss black bead board is sensational.

The outdoor courtyard is so inviting and perfect for lounging and lingering.

Happy Monday! Hope you all have a big week!!

My favorite bed right now...BVN

One of my favorite beds we've had in a while...This amazing embroidery is done by a family owned business located outside of Florence Italy called Bagni Volpi Noemi (aka. BVN).  The collection consists of hand guided embroidery on amazing quality percale, sateen and matelasse.

Seriously, how gorgeous is this work?

The company actually has a bunch of videos on YouTube that demonstrate how the sheets are made and how the embroidery is worked onto the fabric.  I was fascinated with the precision and skill required in a simple (not so simple) chain stitch sown in this video.  I can't event imagine the focus required to produce some of these more intricate patterns.

A slightly different pattern.

Because everything is hand guided and made in the family studio, all items are 100% "customizable."  Endless options abound...And, just to let you know, the sheets are even softer than the designs are pretty.  Truly a gem of a company.
