Shop Photos: Pillow Talk

Let's chat....
about these pillows!
Pink and Orange done in such a great way.

A little linen and velvet and sparkle.

This picture doesn't do them justice but our customers can't get enough of these linen basket weave pillows in great colors.  They just need a little fluffing.
Perfect pieces for a neutral room.  Digging the nautical/roppy vibe of the far left pair.

We're constantly getting in new little plump pillows so come by the shop and check out what we have in store for you!

Making Your Bed Makes Your Life Better...A Re-Post

The heading caught my attention:
Make your Bed! For Productivity, Profit and Peace

Of course the girls at Gramercy are obsessed with making beds.  It looks pretty and makes you happy.
I'll admit, however, I had years of unkempt bed days.  It was really my husband who pushed me over to the bed making side of life and I have to say it's a good place to be...

One blogger decided to put the theory to the test for 10 days to see how life changed. What happened?

How about you? Are you a regular bed maker?

Lustful Living Rooms

One of the surest ways to feel you are living in style is to have a stylish living room!
Ashley Whittaker via Savvy Home
This room makes me sooooo happy.  Gorgeous deep blue walls balanced by the light sofa and touches of orange.  I'm also pretty obsessed with the art trend of water photos.  This room almost has a "yachty" vibe but not in a cheesy thematic way.

I'm a sucker for a room with lots of color and texture. Ironically, I don't use as much in my own home but perhaps one day...

Amanda Peet's home in Vogue
Amanda Peet is uber stylish and her home(s) have splashed magazines, blogs and more for years...you can see why.  Kid friendly and fun - yet sophisticated.

These two rooms bring out a little of the green monster (read: envy).  Not a color I typically use but it's such a great neutral and works well with light beige walls, as well as a bolder blue.

Another room splashed across the blogosphere...One day I may be brave enough to do a whole wall in bright orange high gloss.  Bring it.

Can you see your self lounging and entertaining in any of these spaces??

Bedroom of the Week: Color Explosion!

Woah Nellly - there is some serious color going on here and this room screams fun!
Not for the faint at heart, but for the lighthearted.

This was put together for an add for Anna Shapiro's new line of wallpaper - check it out here.

Have a super fun weekend!

Is The Bedspread Back?

I feel like I've been seeing a lot more images of beds that have a more "beadspread" feel, than a fluffy duvet feel.  A sort of updated beadspread for the new century.
For those not needing the extra warmth, or who like a more layered approach the modern twist on bedspreads is a great option.  The bedspread we showcased in the shop (see original post here) got some serious attention so I'm most curious to see how things transition over the next few years.

What do you think?  Will you be putting a spread on your bed???

Bedroom of the Week: Clean Lines

In honor of Father's Day, I thought I'd feature a bedroom of the week that no man would complain about...  It's simple and has a subtle masculinity.  In a tight space neutrals can really help open a room.  The curtains and headboard are in the same fabric, which draws the eye up.  Keeping accessories neutral helps add interest with out overwhelming the space.

Happy Weekend.  Make sure to spoil the dad's in your life!!

Totally Terrific Tablescapes

The Gramercy Girls love a great tabletop.  With summer fast upon us it's a great time to go bold with pattern and color, as well as use the gifts that Mother Nature provides us.  Of course we think an essential part of a divine tablescape is to include our favorite linen dinner (here) and cocktail (here) napkins.  Available in over 101 colors you can certainly find something to work with your scheme.

A few images to get your creative juices flowing!
Orange (clementine?) trees with X boxes add height and interest.  The wall color is such a great backdrop for this elegant garden party.
Always fun to mix some seasonal goodies in with your flora.

Eddie Ross is great at incorporating bold, bright patterns into a table setting.  This table features one of LULU DK's patterns.

Simple but gorgeous.

A perfect outdoor tea party - always have to have a little pink!

Charlotte Moss effortlessly incorporates pink and teal.

Another gorgeous color combo:  purple and turquoise.

For the soirees running into the night, add a chandelier or...several as seen below!

If you are local, come by the shop and let us help you design the perfect pairing!

Something's Gotta Give...Again!

Before you get too excited, I'm not talking about a sequel to the movie, just a sequel to the home design. Or, should I say 100-quel (whatever that would spell).  The home in the movie, Something's Gotta Give, is one of the most copied (inspired) homes the past several years.  It's no wonder why!

I was impressed by the most recent version in June's Traditional Home.
Let's start the tour...
Nothing like a grand foyer to say "Welcome!"
Fabulous kitchen with large island, lots of windows, and dark floors a gourmet chef does make.
Pre-dinner drinks on the veranda always delight...
before dining alfresco in disappearing sunlight.
A great back up space if rain or weather don't allow for outdoor dining.

After dinner it's time to retire to the family room for a movie, popcorn and fire.
Before going down for slumber it's time to soak in this luxurious tub.  I'd surely turn to a prune never wanting to get out of this beauty.
Finally time to rest your head on a nice fluffy pillow.

Wake up, repeat!

Love the look but can't do an entire renovation? Check out Kelly Market's post on channeling this style in small ways.
