Bedroom of the Week: Transitioning into Fall

As we transition out of summer and into fall this room seems to capture that very spirit.  The luscious velvet bed and the chocolate beaded chandelier are balanced perfectly with white walls and light bedding.  That amazing rug pulls it all together perfectly.

I also want to share this room because it's designed by Atlanta's very own Beth Webb.  This renowned designer will collaborate with us in September to create a new display window and bed for our "Between the Sheets" series.  Can't wait for the Big Reveal!

In the meantime, please check out Beth's portfolio at www.bethwebb.com.

Bon Weekend!

White Wednesday - Bedrooms

There are few rooms that are more serene than all white bedrooms.  The key to creating a successful white room is to pay attention to the details such as hints of color and lots of texture.  We have a couple of display beds in the shop right now that work as great anchors to achieving your White Wonderland.

All the shop girls agree that BVN does some extremely gorgeous embroidery work.  Check out this intricate pattern in a subtle lilac.  I drool every time I walk by...

A universally favorite accent color in a bedroom is a light blue.  This duvet and shams add a bit more punch to an all white room.

Do you dream of a perfectly white place to rest your head?

A Dreamy Evening...

We decided to get the whole team together to celebrate the successful collaboration of our most recent "Between the Sheets" series.  We had a blast "getting in bed" with the creative teams at Peace Design, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Atlanta, and Doug Foltz.

Thank you, everyone, for a wonderful contribution!

Bedroom of the Week: Wallpaper Gorgeousness!

While the bed and all white bedding is great - the real star of this room is the Katie Ridder wallpaper.
Love. It. Big. Time.

Happy Weekend!

Revisiting Doug Foltz: Artist and Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I featured some paintings by Doug Foltz, who collaborated with William Peace of Peace Design in our Between the Sheets series.  His paintings focus on the relationship between water and sky and they are fabulous.  This week I want to share some of Foltz's photography that plays off this same theme.

Only a few days left to come see the featured window displays by Peace Design.

Next month, we will be featuring Beth Webb!

Trend Watch Tuesday: Tufted Beds

Feel I've been seeing lots of tufting in the shelter/ blog/ pinterest world.  Thought I'd share a round of up of some awesome beds!

The one above was used in a previous post here but I couldn't resist sharing again.

Would you tuft or not?

Monogram Monday: Clearly Gorgeous

Favorite Quote:
"My sheets are monogrammed, so is my silverware and pretty much everything else I own. My rule is, if it's not moving, monogram it."  -  Reese Witherspoon

For those of you with a similar monogramming motto, you will go gaga over our etched glass offerings at the shop.  Wine Glasses, Bourbon Glasses, Vases, Bowls, Carafes, and more!

A set of four wine glasses makes an amazing wedding or shower gift.  Or, knock the socks off your friends and family this holiday season.

A sweet little vase is perfect for Mother's Day, Hostess Gifts, or your friend's Birthday or Holiday goody.

We adore this little "love" vase.  We introduced them in the shop at Valentine's Day but they  are so popular we keep them year round!

Another great idea for weddings or anniversaries - the bowl can be etched with the date of your special event.

Items usually take about three weeks.  Swing by the shop if you want to see more details!  Give us a call if you want to get your holiday order going!  You laugh, but there are some of you who are super prepared and planning for the holidays already.  I tip my hat to you - I'm a last-minute-nelly.  Every year I resolve to do better.  Maybe this will be the year?!?

Happy Monogram Monday!

Sunday Splash! Coastal Style

I thought we should enjoy a few more "beachy" images as we wrap us summer travels and get ready to head back to school.  Today's Sunday Splash is in the beautiful ocean!  No poll can do the same thing for the soul as a floating in one of God's most wonderful creations.

Happy Sunday!!

Pink vs. Orange

We just got these new pillows in the shop in orange and gray.
They are a new color way from our oh so popular navy and pink earlier this year.

Which way do you prefer????

A few more PEACEful bedrooms...

In honor of our current window display series, "Between the Sheets with Peace Design," I thought it would be fun to feature a few other bedrooms designed by William Peace and his team.  The design firm specializes in rooms that have a certain Mountain Chic to them - with clients with homes in Wyoming and Montana.  Follow its Facebook page to peek at some of the team's travels.  You will be green with envy!

Doesn't get much cozier than this.

My kind of headboard.

Back from the ranch to a more contemporary space.

Home Tour: Sela Ward's Color Explosion

Last Friday I was thinking that I really needed a bolt of inspiration.  Sometimes it comes in like flood waters and other times is like the Sahara Desert. I was in a desert mode and desperately needing a drink.  Fortunately, my Traditional Home arrived and I took a moment to flip through before setting in my "read later" pile.  So glad I took a peek - this first photo made me take pause.  I adore Sela Ward.  I have been ever since watching her every week in "Sisters."  I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and starting my own company just like she did - ops!
My 1993 self would be so disappointed in my 2012 self!

Anyhoo...Traditonal Home features and extensive tour of her Bel Air home she shares with her husband and children.  She has a passion for art (she's actually an artist) and color and both are beautifully woven through the home with the help of Ward's friend and designer, Ann Runyon Carter.

Sela and Ann both grew up in Mississippi and have a deep appreciation for the deep south.

Hello patterns and texture.  No room for the color weary in this home!

Bright and airy...but check out the reclaimed island cabinet.

The one place for a neutral palette is the Master Bedroom.  What is lacking in color is made up for in texture and details.  Gorg!

The guest room just makes me happy.  I bet she has a hard time getting folks to "check out."  I know I wouldn't want to leave.

All images from Traditional Home.  Article featured in the September 2012 issue.

Monogram Monday: Talley Ho Cosmetic Bags & More!

Jewelry Box in Moire

One of our favorite lines we carry at the shop for cosmetic bags is Talley Ho.  The company offers a huge variety of fabric options to create a truly custom case.  Fabrics such as moire, satin, seersucker, gingham, corduroy, poplin, pique and more!

These bags make amazing gifts (even if it is just for yourself).  A sure way to travel in style.  I'm particularly partial to the satin versions in jewel tones (as featured below), but there is something for every style.

Large Ziptop Cosmetic Bag in Satin

Oval Train Case in Satin

                                                                Small Ziptop in Pique

X-Large Travel Case in Moire

Ziptop Shoulder Bag in Seersucker

Large Beach Tote in Corduroy with Poplin

Set of Three Zip Purses

Set of Three Lingerie Envelopes

Any of the pieces can be ordered through the shop and take between four and six weeks to create.  If you are looking for a fabulous gift for the most discerning of ladies this holiday season, plan ahead and get yours ordered now.

We don't currently have these items on our website but the Talley Ho site is great - it shows the full range of styles and fabrics available.  Take a peek and then contact us for pricing information.  We're happy to provide you with as many quotes as your little heart desires.

Just a small sample of some of the satin colors...yum!
