over here on the west side of town, we are fortunate to feature artwork by two amazingly talented artists: lulu dekwiatkowski-affectionately known as lulu dk-and a gramercy favorite, rebecca cabassa.

as many of you know who are familiar with both matouk and the world of design, designer lulu is a huge deal! her line for matouk marries traditional luxury with whimsy and her artwork is nothing short of fabulous. 

before lulu's textiles are put into production, she brings her musings to life through her sketches, watercolors and collages. we are lucky enough to have six framed prints by lulu here at matouk by gramercy home and couldn't resist sharing a few with you...

1. ARGO. I can't remember the last time I gripped the theater armrests so tightly! Anxiously awaiting the new James Bond..

2. The oh-so-tasteful Halloween yard decor in my neighborhood. While I may be too old for trick or treating, giant blow up cats never fail to disappoint!

3. Camp Twin Lakes' Partners Card. Incredibly grateful to our wonderful Gramercy clients for making Day One a success. It doesn't get much better than shopping for a great cause!

4. IOMOI for Matouk. Whoever says fall and winter colors have to be muted hasn't seen the jewel tones of these punchy 'POM' pillows. Think Cam and Jenny would mind if I borrowed sold them?!

a few weeks ago, we got a fun phone call from a new customer interested in surprising his wife with new bedding for their wedding anniversary. admitting to have little interest experience in the realm of linens and ultimately wanting her involvement, he enlisted our help! within a few minutes, we scheduled a surprise after-hours appointment for them to come prior to a 7:30 anniversary date the following week at an atlanta favorite, Canoe. the appointment was an absolute delight; the celebratory couple left with a gorgeous bedding ensemble on order and an empty (mini) bottle of bubbly in tow!

Bedroom of the Week: Kathy Ireland

As we fall further into the season I thought it best to feature a room with lots autumn hues.  Kathryn Ireland is  known for her great patterns and I think they are perfectly showcased in this room with matching wallpaper and curtains.  The crisp white sheets help off-set the darker colors and keep the whole room fresh.  Lots of prints can borderline "grannie chic" if you aren't careful.  

Are you all for prints, or do you prefer to keep it plain?

With all the pink from the start of October it's a great time to venture further along the color wheel to good ole' orange.  Orange, or peach, or coral or wherever some of these images fall on that wheel.  A touch of this happy color does a room make!

Pretty in Pink Photos

We had our Third Annual Pink Party last week, where we decked the shop in pink to support our customers and friends fighting Breast Cancer.  Throughout October a percentage of proceeds from all pink items purchased at the shop will be donated to The Doris Shaheen Breast Health Center at Piedmont Hospital.  Everything from napkins, guest towels, soaps and candles to pillows, duvets and throws.
